Goals for the 2025-2029 Term

While we have much to be proud of, there is still more work to do. That’s why I’m running for re-election and asking for your vote. 

Many of the goals I’ve set for the next term are already underway. We need to see these projects through to completion and continue building upon them for the benefit of our community.

Economic Growth

• Advance the revitalization of downtown Bloomington.

• Pursue opportunities to revitalize Eastland Mall without settling for short-term fixes.

• Focus on revitalizing the Warehouse District.

• Attract and retain businesses to foster sustained growth in our local economy.

• Collaborate with local institutions and organizations to ensure an adequate supply of educated and skilled workers. Workforce development, attraction, and retention are essential components of a vibrant and thriving economy.

Public Safety

• Continue supporting our public safety employees, ensuring they have the resources needed to respond to issues efficiently and effectively.

Quality of Life

• Work with city staff to solidify Bloomington’s position as a regional destination by enhancing the diversity and quality of events and venues.

• Identify and create new opportunities to improve the quality of life for all residents.

Housing

• Address the housing shortage by exploring viable solutions to provide immediate relief while implementing long-term strategies to prevent future shortages.

• Revitalize older housing stock, particularly in Wards 1, 4, 6, and 7.

• Continue partnering with local organizations to address homelessness, including providing additional shelter space.

Infrastructure 

• Maintain focus on repairing streets and other infrastructure. While significant progress has been made, it’s essential to stay the course and explore opportunities to increase funding when possible.

• Execute a $400M water system improvement project, recognizing water as a key public health and economic growth resource.

• Update and modernize our sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure.

Bringing More Dollars back to Bloomington

• Build on the millions of dollars secured over the past four years by working closely with state and federal elected officials.

• Continue pursuing grants to fund community projects and initiatives.
